This year’s Ropecon is getting closer and closer. And with it our speculations about the whole shenanigan grow wilder and wilder. For Ropecon has found a new location at Messukeskus Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre and older visitors that have grown accustomed to Dipoli will have to brave the wilds and dare to enter this new environment.
It will be interesting to see how the change of scenery affects the whole experience. I really liked the outdoor possibilities around Dipoli but I’m also willing to give Messukeskus a chance. It’s most likely be an experience heavily influenced with the chaos and order theme. Some people know what is going on and they’ll have to work really hard to establish order.
If the rumours are to be believed Games Workshop publishes a new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battles during this summer. I am one of those who actually believe that Fantasy Flight Games might rekindle their ownership on the rpg version of Warhammer. There is nothing to prove this (so it isn’t even a rumour) and I have been known to be wrong before. But still I think it could happen.
This post is not about speculating of what would, could or should happen. As someone who has been playing Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying game through each edition I thought I could summarise some of my experiences with it.
San Diego ComicCon is going on right now, and (this year) it means a first look at three new products. There was the Commander 2014, including Teferi’s planeswalker version, which carries a line at the end letting you play him as a commander, and several sweepers from the From the Vaults: Annihilation (although no Damnation thusfar, which I would have thought to be a good selling point for the set), and a couple of cards from the next Duel Deck, including this fellow:
Zurgo is also the face for Khans of Tarkir, and included in that set as well.
This is where we left off last time. I’m going deeper here. Building on some of the ideas from the last time. Mostly making wild guesses on the returning mechanic.
And when I say wild, I mean wild, although probably somewhat more educated than most on the ‘net. That isn’t a very high standard though.
