Its hard say that in a world with [scryfall]Anger of the Gods[/scryfall] and [scryfall]Drown in Sorrow[/scryfall] going aggro is the right way, but we’ll see. Its often hard to compete with the decks with bigger creatures, but if the manabases of all other decks are largely based on lands that come into play tapped or do damage to their owners, there may in fact be room for ultra fast decks.

Khans of Tarkir Brews, pt. 2 – Random Ideas
More brews. Some weirder ones here. Let us say, “not quite as serious as other ideas”, but its good to get these out of your system. And who knows, maybe someone who is better at taking ideas and tuning them will be able to use these.
Khans of Tarkir Brews, pt. 1 – Time to Ascend
The cycle of three colored ascendancies are clearly meant to be built around. Although (as of this writing) Jeskai haven’t yet ascended (funnily enough), let’s begin with those.
The Bell End 4 – When Sequelitis Strikes
This was actually played months ago, but it went so horribly wrong, I didn’t really feel like writing about it. I guess partly to get me to write more RPG-stuff and for the sake of completeness, I’ll put this up.
So, for those who don’t know, this is a sort of tremulus campaign, but more like a recurring setting. Certain characters and places reappear, but many things are left to the players and the GM. You can find the earlier frameworks in the Resources page (as well as this one, but here’s a direct link), but you can also read up reports on these by following the bell-end tag.
Getting Ready for Rotation (2014), part 3
Block Constructed is always a nice predictor of future Standard. What can we learn from Pro Tour Journey Into Nyx?
Don’t Trust Your Opponent
Even if they seemingly have more experience then you, sometimes they are just wrong. Sometimes they are actively trying to cheat you if they think you’re not as familiar with the rules as they are.
Getting Ready for Rotation (2014), part 2
The spoilers have started in force, so we can go ahead and plan and perhaps brew some more.
Deck Types: Aggro
There’s an old article from last millenium by Mike Flores called Who’s the Beatdown?, which is still available on SCG.com. Its about assignment of who is the beatdown and who is the control and what can result from not understanding this.
What I’m talking about today, are the decks that want to be the beatdown in most situations.
The New Block Structure and Changes to the Magic Year
If you haven’t read MaRo’s article for today, you should probably before proceeding here.
The core of the issue: In the future, there will be two blocks of two sets each year, and they are dropping the Core Set. This also means there will be changes to rotation.
Getting Ready for Rotation (2014), part 1
No real need to do this quite this early, but since I’ve been thinking about this already, why not jot down some of the thoughts I’ve had.
