All the double-faced cards in the set are kind of curious. They certainly have a high upside (as they are all rares), but the floor might be low as well. Is it worth it? I don’t really know. Let’s try this one…

Ixalan Brews, pt. 7 – Monoblack Improvise
There was a deck with various synergies pretty much all over the place I used to play. It loses some cards in rotation, but much of it’s core is still intact.
Ixalan Brews, pt. 6 – Favorable Winds
[scryfall]Favorable Winds[/scryfall] is back. I don’t think anyone was glamoring for it, but it might have it’s uses. Let’s see what could benefit from it.
Ixalan Brews, pt. 5 – Pirates
First thing you should always do when brewing decks is figuring out what you can do with the mana. Of course, only a select few actually do this, because it’s much more fun to start with those interesting cards or synergies. Still, this is the way you should do it. (Yeah, I don’t either.)
Ixalan Brews, pt. 5 – Boros Vehicles
This is an actual deck, but it does lose certain parts of it, namely [scryfall]Thraben Inspector[/scryfall], [scryfall]Needle Spires[/scryfall] and possibly some other cards, but the core of the deck should still be there. But how about if we go a little bigger and find ourselves a new set of drivers, because everyone loves a dinosaur piloting an airship? Right?
Ixalan Brews, pt. 4 – Monowhite Token Horde
Ankylosaurus a bit costly creature, but intesting. We’ll see if that’s the actual name, but the text as translated on MythicSpoilers is as follows:
“Ankylosaurus”
5W
Creature – Dinosaur
Enrage – Whenever Ankylosaurus is dealt damage, put a +1/+1 counter on each other creature you control.
3/5
The interesting thing here is the combo with [scryfall]Walking Ballista[/scryfall].
Ixalan Brews, pt. 3 – Ramp
One of the problems in recent history was that there weren’t really good four mana green creatures. Why was that a problem? Because there were plenty of two costing mana elves. If you play those, you want to play a four drop to play on turn three. Sure, there is [scryfall]Bristling Hydra[/scryfall], which is still quite strong, but there’s some new ones in the new set. (Actually, [scryfall]Crocodile of the Crossing[/scryfall] is quite underappreciated as well.)
Ixalan Brews, pt. 2 – Monoblue Jace
Wow, a Jace I actually like. Now, don’t get me wrong. There’s been powerful Jace’s before, but this one I like for how it works and there’s a huge difference there.
Ixalan Brews, pt. 1 – Grixis Reanimator
I don’t think this is a good idea, but has that ever stopped me from brewing before? Obviously that was just a rhetoric question, but it shouldn’t anyone, because you never know where the really workable ideas lie.
My Favorite Decks from Pro Tour Hour of Devastation
Despite the domninace of the so-called Ramunap Red, there’s several interesting decks out there.
Starting with this one, that didn’t even make day two, but is just too cool to not mention.
