M19 Brews, pt. 3 – 5-Color Dragons

Or 5-color mythics, if you prefer.

Basically, we want to play the new Sarkhan.

We already have one extremely good dragon and one we might want to play here for curve reasons.

There is also [scryfall]Darigaaz Reincarnated[/scryfall], but I’m not sure we’ll need that. For mana, we have these:

So, we’ll be primarily green (as 5C decks tend to be) and red. The question is, how many huge dragons do we actually want to play? How many can we? Let’s say 16. Which is quite a bit. Probably too many.

We are still missing [scryfall]Arcades Sabboth[/scryfall], but we can start here.

So, I would say our deck might look something like this:

[deck]
[creatures]
4 Servant of the Conduit
4 Channeler Initiate
4 Jadelight Ranger
3 Nicol Bolas, the Ravager
3 Verix Bladewing
4 Glorybringer
4 Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire
1 Chromium, the Mutable
1 Palladia Mors, the Ruiner
1 Samut, Voice of Dissent
[/creatures]
[spells]
4 Sarkhan, Fireblood
[/spells]
[lands]
4 Unclaimed Territory
4 Aether Hub
2 Field of Ruin
1 Cascading Cataracts
4 Rootbound Crag
4 Sheltered Thicket
2 Timber Gorge
2 Forest
1 Island
1 Mountain
1 Plains
1 Swamp
[/lands]
[/deck]

You’ll note that I’ve used only permanents. This is problematic in many ways, but we do have answer here.

And yes, that’s 27 lands. I was going to have 28, but than noticed that Samut might be a good addition here. She also brings a secret weapon with her. Untapping a creature in the face of [scryfall]Seal Away[/scryfall] is pretty nice.

    • Me neither. They make the mana even more awkward, but I couldn’t come up with anything else at the time of writing.
