I previously mentioned this theme as something I might want to do a favorite list on, but having realized that I just haven’t seen enough of these, I decided that maybe I’ll try this instead. So, here is a very subjective ranking of all the Australian horror movies I’ve seen.

Igor Is the Best Thing About Anora
There’s a piece of trivia on IMDb I find perplexing.
Said to be following wealthy people, a first for director Sean Baker.
My Top 10 Offbeat Spooky Season Movies
Note that the key here is “spooky” season. There’s a playful side to this. It’s not all blood and gore or psychological torment. It’s about having fun with the possibility of those. So, no Halloween here.
My Top 10 Favorite 80s Movies
Specifically movies made in the 80s, not movies about the 80s.
The Substance Has Plenty of Substance
Ow wow, that’s so stupid that I can’t be possibly the first one to come up with that joke.
Aki Vs. Evil – Kevin Can F**k Himself
I know, I know, not a movie but I found this interesting enough to write about.
1977 Movie Retrospect
Why 1977? That is the year I was born (which does mean that I only have second-hand experience of this year). Also, it’s a weirdly important year in terms of movies. Also, I did plan to just do this for each year after my birth. My overall goal with these kinds of articles is to use different excuses to talk about different movies, which might hopefully lead someone to find something new to watch. This specific year has plenty.
Speak No Evil and the Lack of Trust in the American Audiences
TL;DR or afraid of spoilers: The remake is a fine movie, but nothing special
After this I’m going to be spoiler-ific on both versions of the movie. You have been warned.
Aki vs. Evil – The Blackening
This was very hard to find here in Finland. I guess there isn’t much in the way of audience for a movie like this here.
MaXXXine Is Trying Too Hard to Be Smart
I have nothing against smart movies, but on the other hand, when a movie tries too hard to insert references that don’t quite work, it’s horrible.
