There’s a piece of trivia on IMDb I find perplexing.
Said to be following wealthy people, a first for director Sean Baker.
Note that the key here is “spooky” season. There’s a playful side to this. It’s not all blood and gore or psychological torment. It’s about having fun with the possibility of those. So, no Halloween here.
Specifically movies made in the 80s, not movies about the 80s.

I know, I know, not a movie but I found this interesting enough to write about.
Why 1977? That is the year I was born (which does mean that I only have second-hand experience of this year). Also, it’s a weirdly important year in terms of movies. Also, I did plan to just do this for each year after my birth. My overall goal with these kinds of articles is to use different excuses to talk about different movies, which might hopefully lead someone to find something new to watch. This specific year has plenty.

This was very hard to find here in Finland. I guess there isn’t much in the way of audience for a movie like this here.
I have nothing against smart movies, but on the other hand, when a movie tries too hard to insert references that don’t quite work, it’s horrible.
