EDH Deck Time: Tormod + Ghost of Ramirez DePietro

Tormod seems interesting, if underpowered, but than again, all partners should be underpowered, because you do get two. Looking at the various potential partners, the only one I found fun enough is [scryfall]Ghost of Ramirez DePietro[/scryfall], another underpowered commander. I do also like how Ghost enables a certain amount of diplomacy, even if that is kind of hard to utilize.

WHat to do with this pair? Madness? I guess it doesn’t actually work due to the new rules. Delve? That’s are handily largely in blue and black. Both also have plenty of self-mill and cycling, which are helpful.

Let’s start with cycling.

How about those Delve cards? We can’t play too many of these, since cards in graveyards are a precious resource and we want to pick them up in many cases as well.

How about that self-mill? In general, I don’t like self-mill in Commander. There is just so much gravehate available that unless the card does something else as well, there just isn’t much point to it. Gladly, some of my favorite cards belong to this particular category.

What other ways of removing cards from the graveyard do we have?

… and for discard:

I’ll also throw in all the various Zombie lords.

Some other payoffs for all this nonsense:

Including all the cycling lands above, this would leave room for 40 lands. A few more would be a good idea just to make sure you have enough of them. You can probably also cycle those lands a few times before playing them, which would give you plenty of chances to draw more.
