Kaladesh Brews, pt. 5 – BR Aggro

These days, whenever new cards become available, BR or Rakdos is where my mind goes first, pretty much everytime. Its not generally the best color combination, but admittedly The Joker’s philosophy does have a certain appeal to me in fiction, which this combination embodies in its recklessness.

My favorite card from Battle for Zendikar block was easily [scryfall]Inverter of Truth[/scryfall], no question about it. Its just so weird and hard to use. So, now that the structure of Standard has shifted and [scryfall]Eldrazi Displacer[/scryfall] isn’t as easy to use to kill you, maybe a deck built around it could work.

The idea here is to get some damage in early with the low drops and burn and after the inevitable horde of [scryfall]Sylvan Advocate[/scryfall]s, the bane of all aggressive decks, stops your onslaught, you can bring in the big gun, give it haste, shuffle all those sweet burn spells into your new library and finish off your opponent.

I could see us losing some of the 1-drops in favor of either [scryfall]Olivia, Mobilized for War[/scryfall] or [scryfall]Drana, Liberator of Malakir[/scryfall]. It might even make the mana better. Olivia would provide more ways to give haste to Inverter and would let you discard certain cards to get back into your library or just make your library a little bigger.

I don’t know if this deck has any future, but I would love to see it work.
