Magic Origins Brews, pt. 6 – A Last Hurrah for the Enchantment Deck

There are infinite stars in the sky and while there aren’t quite as many ways to use this card, its clearly more than I could ever count.

starfieldofnyx

… and here’s one.

First: We want to stay alive long enough to play Starfield and we want to find it consistently. For this, we need some ways to find it. How about Kruphix’s Insight, Commune with the Gods and Plea for Guidance? And how to stay alive? This is actually almost embarrasing, but this might help: Font of Vigor. Yep. Didn’t see that coming, huh?

Actually, I’m not sure its going to be any good, but its an idea.

So, we are locked into playing white and pretty much locked into playing green. How about black? Black was clearly meant to be a one of the colors in the enchantment deck with Doomwake Giant, but here’s another reason to play it: Agent of Erebos. Its a kind of bad card, but if its a 4/4, it might be good. It will stop the Den Protector / Deathmist Raptor engine. Of course, once the metagame shifts, you can lose it and put something like Brain Maggot into the deck in its stead. How about Dictate of Erebos? Its already marginally playable, but if it comes with a 5/5 body, its bound to be good.

Then, there’s a couple of other green cards I’d like to play. We have (in the name of mentioning unplayable cards) Font of Fertility. Recurring ramp must be good. Then there’s this card:

elementalbond1

… and let’s just throw in an Archetype of Finality, because why not?
