I mentioned this possibility before in my article on my Crypt Rats deck. There I was thinking that this deck might be a little too much EDH and not enough Pauper. However, despite this, [scryfall]Species Gorger[/scryfall] definitely has an appeal to me as a commander. Its just a matter of finding enough creatures with ETB and LTB abilities at common.

A Look at Alignments
I have a book called Dungeons and Dragons and Philosophy lying around somewhere. Haven’t read it, but I’ll probably try in the near future. In the meantime, I thought I’d share my thoughts on alignments based on what I know about ethics from back in the day in my gymnasium (roughly high school for those who live in the large part of the world with no idea what the word actually means) philosophy course.
(And yes, I’m finally writing something RPG-related again.)
Journey Into Nyx Prerelease Post Game
I went 4-1 with my black-blue control deck. Apparently, my anti-[scryfall]Dawnbringer Charioteer[/scryfall] plan worked out perfectly, as I played against four white decks and I didn’t get hit by that guy once. The fifth match? Didn’t do so well.
Journey Into Nyx Brews, pt. 6 – More Theros Block
Now that the set is finally on Gatherer and MagicCards.info (which I prefer due to more flexibility in search terms), doing some brewing is much easier. Its nice to be able to search for cards with certain characteristics.
Journey Into Nyx Brews, pt. 5 – Block Constructed
Since I’m going to GP Manchester and I don’t go to that many GPs, I might as well start thinking about the deck now. Actually I already did a bit, but since everyone seems to be playing black online, I thought I’d make an effort and look into something different.
Competitive Magic for Roleplaying Gamers
One of the big problems with newer players, who have some experience under their belt, but not much, is that they’ve learned a certain style of play and they try to play that way whatever deck they play.
Journey Into Nyx Brews, pt. 4
Random, rather casual decks, although still standard legal.
Journey Into Nyx Brews, pt. 3 – Heroic
Heroic might not be the way to go right now, but it probably will be soon enough, if there’s no cheap sweeper in the near future. After [scryfall]Supreme Verdict[/scryfall] is gone, these strategies might be the thing to do.
Journey Into Nyx Brews, pt. 2
More brews. This time totally randomly red and black monocolored decks.
Standard Deck Time: Monogreen Aggro
I’ve been a bit burnt out lately with my Suicide Black deck. Its still pretty good, but I just don’t seem to have the fire to play with it that I used to, so I’m getting sloppy. This means its time to look for something different. Gladly, some guy called Mason Lange played a monogreen aggro deck in a recent StarCityGames Open. That seemed like something to build on.
